Important Points SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) During the Inspection of RCC NP4 Pipes

Important Points SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) During the Inspection of RCC NP4 Pipes:

(1.) Firstly, approved QAP will be checked.

(2.) ID marks should be marked on the inner and outer sides of pipes.

(3.) To check the inner and outer diameter of pipes.

(4.) Smooth finishing and before dispatch of RCC pipes cement slurry or grouting where required.

(5.) Load test is required for RCC pipes as per IS codes. It is different for each dia, of RCC pipes.

(6.) Concrete mix design checked and in which cement content, cement brand, and water-cement ratio should be checked.

(7.) The straightness test to be checked of RCC pipes through the straightness rods to collinear visible.

(8.) As per requirement 2% of hydro tests are to be checked as IS:458 of the total ordered quantity.

(9.) During the hydro test, 0.007 MPA pressure is required. It will take approximately 4 hours to fill the water. After the water is filled, tighten the MS plates to check the pressure and leakage. During this testing, the base is properly leveled and both ends of the RCC pipes are closed through the rubber. Leakage of pipe is not acceptable.

(10.) To check all documents and use equipment’s calibration reports like as CTM machine calibration, concrete plant calibration, cube test register, curing register, stock register, MTC of steel, MTC of admixture, MTC of cement, third-party NABL lab test reports of 10 mm gradation, 20 mm gradation, Fine aggregate (Sand) gradation with silt content and fineness modulus.

(11.) If concrete cubes have achieved their target strength as per mix design, then it is okay. If it’s not achieved, then an NDT test (Rebound hammer and Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity) is required. If the result is found satisfactory, then it's ok, and if found not satisfactory then we have not purchased it.

(12.) The finishing of the collar of pipes should be checked and the MTC of the MS plate will be checked also MS plates should be painted for prevention of rusting.

(13.) Stock of cement bags to check along with MTC and required to be covered with polythene sheets.

(14.) The Thickness of pipes is to be checked through Vernier calipers.

(15.) Vernier calipers' calibration and measuring tape must be updated.

(16.) Safety is important for plants. All workers and staff must be using PPE’s. Safety is important during the loading and unloading of RCC pipes.

(17.) After inspection signature of inspected RCC pipes.

 Using IS code:- (1.) IS:458
                           (2.) IS:3597
