Important Points SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) During the Inspection of RCC NP4 Pipes: -    Image-Hydro Test (Photo Credit: Ritesh Raj) (1.) Firstly, approved QAP will be checked.  (2.) ID marks should be marked on the inner and outer sides of pipes.  Image-ID Mark (Photo Credit: Ritesh Raj)  (3.) To check the inner and outer diameter of pipes.   (4.) Smooth finishing and before dispatch of RCC pipes cement slurry or grouting where required.   (5.) Load test is required for RCC pipes as per IS codes. It is different for each dia, of RCC pipes.  Image-Plate Load Test (Photo Credit: Ritesh Raj)   (6.) Concrete mix design checked and in which cement content, cement brand, and water-cement ratio should be checked.  (7.) The straightness test to be checked of RCC pipes through the straightness rods to collinear visible.   (8.) As per requirement 2% of hydro tests are to be checked as IS:458 of the total ordered quantity.  Image-Hydro Test (Pressure Release) (Photo Credit: Ritesh Raj)

Initial Setting Time of Cement

It is the time when water is added to cement and the time at which needle of 1mm2 section fails to penetrate the depth block to a depth of 5 to 7 mm from the bottom of mould.

Important Terms:-

(i) Take 0.85P of water. (Where, P is normal consistency)

(ii) 1mm2 needle is used.

(iii) Penetration should be 5 to 7 mm from bottom.

(iv) Mixing, placing and testing should be done between 3 to 5 mm.

Recent Post:- Aggregate Impact Value Test

Test Procedure:-

(i) 400 gm of cement sample is taken.

(ii) 0.85 P=(0.85 P X 26/100) X 400

                = 88.4 CC (CC-Cubic Centimeter)

                                  (1 cc=1 ml)

(iii) 88.4 ml water is mixed and filled in the mould.

(iv) 1mm2 diameter of plunger is fixed and at bottom of vicat apparatus, mould will placed and needle will just touch and freely filled. Now reading=0

(v) After interval of sometimes we will proceed for penetration. Till reading not comes in the range of 5 mm to 7 mm. Again penetration is applied and now reading is=7 mm.

After many times penetration and free fall when results will not comes under 5 mm to 7 mm, we have repeted this procedure.

Mould placing timing=8:25 A.M.

Testing Completed timing=9:00 A.M.

So, initial setting time=35 minutes
